Traffic Safety Program

Follow the Instructions Below to Sign up for the Traffic Safety Program!

Sign up Online

• Request a Mitigation Hearing. CLICK HERE
• Complete our questionnaire for eligibility. CLICK HERE  

Do not proceed to the next step until you have received a confirmation email stating you have qualified for the program.

• Pay the $150 enrollment fee only CLICK HERE DO NOT PAY YOUR TICKET. 
• After receiving a payment confirmation email, you will be required to complete our registration form. CLICK HERE
• You will receive an email with the access code and instructions. 
• Complete the Traffic Safety Course at your own pace within 20 days of enrollment. The online course generally takes 4 to 6 hours to complete.  
• Once you have completed the course, please email a copy of your photo I.D. to irene.niemi@co.yakima.wa.us 

Sign up In-Person

• Request a Mitigation Hearing. CLICK HERE
• Sign up in-person at our Yakima or Grandview location. 
• Fill out our Program Contract and provide a photo I.D. 
• Pay the $150 enrollment fee only, DO NOT PAY YOUR TICKET. 
• The clerk will provide the access code and instructions in paper form. 
• Plan your schedule in advance for the four hour in-person course. 
• On the day of your class, be sure to check in with our clerks at the front desk in room 200, and they will direct you to the assigned room.  

*Note 

Friendly reminder, you are not required to appear in court unless you need to speak to the Judge regarding an extension to complete the course.  

Once you have successfully completed the course you will receive a court letter in the mail to the address on file.
