Groundwater Management Area

Purpose


The purpose of the Groundwater Management Area is to reduce the nitrate contamination concentrations in groundwater below state drinking water standards.


At its final meeting on June 20, 2019, the Lower Yakima Valley Groundwater Advisory Committee (GWAC) presented its Final GWMA Program to the Department of Ecology as required under WAC 173-100-120.

This concludes the GWAC’s work. Pending certification by the Department of Ecology, the Program now enters the implementation phase.
