How to file an answer to a civil lawsuit:
A civil lawsuit has been filed against you. According to your summons you have 20 days from the date in which you were served to file an answer. If filing an answer, file the original with Yakima County District Court, Civil Department, Room 225. You must also serve a copy of the answer upon the plaintiff and/or plaintiff's attorney. If your case number begins with a #G you may file your answer with our lower valley court office in Grandview.
