HOW DO I FILE A NAME CHANGE:

The clerk will then advise you when to come to court.  In Yakima, These hearings are only heard on Thursdays @11:00 am.  We are limited to only 6 hearings each week so it is a 1st come 1st serve basis.

In Grandview, name changes are held on even Mondays at 9:00 am on the civil calendar.  Only four settings available per session.  File no later than 4:00 pm to be set for the next available court date.

The court will file the original with the auditor’s office for recording purposes, but it is the responsibility of the petitioner to advise health department, department of licensing etc.  The court does not do that for you.
