The 2007 Search and Rescue Academy is scheduled to begin on February 17, 2007. The academy is full and no additional applications are being accepted at this time.
Yakima County is hosting the 2007 Dog Meet for Washington State K9 SAR Handlers. We are compiling information about courses, instructors, logistics for sleeping such as hotels, campsites, etc. Also we invite all those who are going to participate to visit and register on the Message board so you can take part in the process or provide some valuable feedback.

  • MCP Project - The Yakima County Search and Rescue Program has joined in partnership with Yakima Valley Credit Union in an effort to replace their aging Mobile Command Post. The MCP is the hub of all operations in SAR and is a valuable tool for not only the efforts of rescuing individuals but the safety of the volunteers. The program hopes to raise about $80,000.00 to purchase a new command post. Tax deductible donations can be made to the Yakima County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Project MCP at any Yakima Valley Credit Union branch or at the Sheriff's Office.
