An 18 year old male has been arrested and booked into the Yakima County jail recommending an initial charge of First Degree Assault pending completion of the investigation. The shooting victim is uncle to the 18 year old suspect. It appears both of them lived in the home. The 18 year old suspect is the person that initially called 911. In the initial call the 18 year old reported that he had accidentally shot his uncle. The suspect initially stated to investigators that he had accidentally shot the suspect while attempting to commit suicide. Further investigation and interviews indicate that there was an intimate relationship taking place between the suspect and victim. The suspect became frustrated that the victim did not want to maintain the relationship and subsequently shot the victim multiple times. The victim is now reported to be in critical but stable condition at a Yakima hospital.
