Monitoring Volunteer Opportunity
We are looking for volunteer groups that would be interested to assist in collecting water samples. Volunteer groups could include school classes, community organizations, or professional associations.
Groups should consist of 12-19 high school or higher aged individuals with supervisory personnel for school groups. Monitoring takes place for approximately 5 hours ending no later than 2:30 pm. Transportation and lunch are not provided. Release of liability forms will be required for each participant. Yakima County will provide environmental education related to stormwater and new methods of treating stormwater in an urban setting.

Volunteer groups could be involved in one or more of the scheduled events and could also become involved in more advanced environmental education related to the results of the sampling if they are interested.
Stormwater management is an interdisciplinary field that includes components of biology, chemistry, earth science, and engineering among other fields.
