FIRE SAFETY DIVISION
The Plan Review program is staffed by International Code Council Certified Building Plans Examiners who review each building plan to ensure compliance with applicable local, state and federal building, plumbing, energy, mechanical, and/or fire codes, ordinances, laws and regulations. Our Plans Examiners deliver comprehensive and quality structural, as well as, fire and life safety reviews.
A plan review is conducted when all required construction information and plans are received by our Project Coordinators. After the initial and first re-review and where the plans are incomplete or changed so as to require additional plan review, an additional plan re-review fee shall be charged at the rate of $76.60 per hour with a minimum charge of one half hour.
Fees incurred must be paid before a permit is issued.
In addition, Plans Examiners conduct Flood Hazard Determination Reviews for local, state and Federal Emergency Management Agency code compliance and enforcement.
Our Building Plans Examiner is Richard Hembree and can be contacted at 509-574-2300.
Building Permit fees are determined by a number of factors. In order to avoid confusion and misunderstanding, these fees are not published. You may call 574-2300 to obtain your building permit fee. See side bar for Mechanical and Plumbing fees.
