     SERVICES PROVIDED:  The professional staff provides a full gamut of
     hearing, speech and language services.  Services to the hearing impaired
     include audiological screenings (free), evaluations, dispensing of hearing
     aids, aural rehabilitation, FM systems, and support groups for stroke
     victims and the hard-of-hearing.  Hearing aids for needy community
     members are available at a significantly reduced price.  Services to the
     speech and language handicapped include screenings (free), evaluations
     and treatment.  Services also include management for individuals with
     dysphagia (swallowing problems).  Free hearing screening by phone
     available 24 hours a day by calling 575-EXAM.

     ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:  None - Anyone seeking help will receive
     services.

     AREA SERVED:  Central Washington, primarily Yakima County.

     FEES:  Fee for service.  Sliding-fee scale available for those who qualify.

     HOURS:  8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Monday through Friday.  Additional times
     available by appointment.

     REFERRAL PROCEDURE:  Anyone may refer an individual to the Center
     for services.  If the individual is covered through the Department of Social
     and Health Services (DSHS), then a signed physician referral is needed. 
     The Center provides services on a contractual basis with the Department of
     Developmental Disabilities (DDD), all area hospitals and home health
     centers, nursing homes and state agencies.  The Center is a Medicare-approved facility.  Private-pay individuals wishing services need only call
     for an appointment.

     BILINGUAL CAPABILITIES:  English and Spanish, as well as English/Sign
     language.
