YAKIMA SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE

SUBJECT:  Homicide

SYNOPSIS:         Shortly after 1:30 a.m. on November 19, 2009 the body of a 55 year old male was found in a vehicle at the intersection of Phillip John Road and Winaway Road, near Wapato.  The victim appears to have suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest. 

The victim has been identified as Lenard Cohenour who lived nearby in the 900 block of Winaway Road.  Next of kin have been notified.

An autopsy will be scheduled and further details will be released as they become available.  Anyone with information concerning this homicide should call the Yakima Sheriff’s Office at (509) 574-2500.
