Synopsis:

On October 22, 2011 at approximately 1300 hours the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office assisted by Moxee Police Department responded to the 200 block of Konnowac Pass in reference to a gunshot victim.

On arrival deputies found a 59 year old Hispanic male suffering from wounds to his face and neck. 

Preliminary investigation determined that a nearby resident was apparently upset with workers in a nearby orchard and fired shots from his residence.  A 44 year old Hispanic male was nearly struck by one of the shots and the 59 year old victim who was operating a tractor was struck in the neck and face. 

The 72 year old white male suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Yakima County Correctional Facility.

The 59 year old victim was transported to Yakima Regional for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

There is no further information and the investigation is on-going.
