On Thursday March 29, 2012 at approximately 4:05 AM, East Valley Fire Department and Moxee Police responded to a report of a house fire in the 200 block of Blossom DR. Moxee Police Officer Leo Hull was the first emergency worker to arrive. He found an adult male collapsed in front of the burning house near the front door. The male was suffering from smoke inhalation. The male told the officer there was still an adult female inside the house. With the assistance of a neighbor the male was pulled to safety. The officer made several attempts to enter the house but he was unable to get in to save the female. Fire personnel arrived and started rescue efforts. The female was located inside the home deceased. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Yakima County Fire Marshal’s office and the Moxee Police Department.
