On Monday, 4/2/2012, at about 1400 hrs, Yakima Co Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 1000 block of Barnhart Rd, near Hwy 22 and south of Granger, on report of the body of a man near the roadway.  Deputies discovered the body of Jose Manual Correa, a Sunnyside area resident who had been reported as missing since early Saturday morning, 3/31/12.  Correa appeared to have expired from a gunshot wound.

Deputies and fire crews responded Saturday night to a vehicle fire near the same area.  The vehicle involved belonged to Correa.  Family members reported Correa as a missing person on Sunday, 4/1/12, after they were alerted to the finding of his burned vehicle.   Investigators began the search for Correa after the family report Sunday, and continued such until his body was discovered on Monday.
