Naches Park & Recreation District
Proposition No. 1
Special Levy

The Commissioners of the Naches Park and Recreation District adopted Resolution 2013-06 concerning a proposition to finance the general operating and equipment expenses of the District.  This proposition would authorize the District to levy $95,000 in excess property taxes (approximately $.60 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) to be collected in 2014 and again in 2015 to meet general operating and equipment expenses.  Should this proposition be approved?

Tax Levy - Yes

Tax Levy - No

The Naches Park and Recreation District Levy will raise $95,000 each year to help finance the costs of operation, maintenance, equipment, and activities for the Applewood Park and the Naches Swimming Pool.  This levy will be collected over two years (2014 and 2015) with the proceeds used to provide for the needs and maintenance of the park and pool.

The total levy value is $190,000 over the two years, which will result in an assessment of approximately .60 per $1,000 of assessed value to meet general operating and equipment expenses.

Statement For: Statement Against:

Keep "OUR" pool and park operating.  Naches Park District includes the Town of Naches and most of the Naches Fire District.  The voters in this area have shown their support by voting "YES" to support and maintain the park and pool.  YOUR yes vote for this bi-annual levy will again provide $95,000 each year for 2014 and 2015.  This is the same amount asked for since 2008.  The cost will be $.60 per $1,000 of assessed value.  We are confident this amount will maintain, operate, and make some improvements to the facilities.
It is vitally important that as a community we protect the recreational facilities that both young and old can enjoy.  OUR district does not receive any funds from the Town, County, or State.  Please show your support with your YES vote.  Thank you.
