Adult Employment Programs

Adult Program – Workforce Investment Act

Earned Income Tax Credit

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult Program provides workforce investment activities that increase the employment, retention, and earnings of participants, and increase occupational skill attainment by participants, which will improve the quality of the workforce, reduce welfare dependency, and enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the economy.

You may be eligible for the adult program if you are 18 years of age or older, p ossess barrier(s) to employment (high school dropout, disabilities, offender/ex-offenders, basic skills deficient just to name a few); and willing to learn, complete the program, and more importantly, have the motivation to work.

The Workforce Investment Act mandates that participants are provided core, intensive and training services. Core services are basic information about our programs and other government programs made available for job seekers. Intensive, job training and other services assist participants to attain and retain employment.
