| These trials have been conducted by W. Frank Hendrix, Livestock Extension Agent, Yakima, from May-August, 2001. The purpose is to determine how many pounds of beef can be produced per acre using managed intensive grazing. Here, eight cows and 19 calves were fed on four acres, using a timed rotation. The last picture shows the grass at a 4 inch forage height -- time to remove at this time of year.
