Yakima County Sheriff's Office

For the sake of public health, the Sheriff's Office Yakima and Zillah lobbies are not open for general walk-in services.  Lobby contacts for sex offender registration will continue.

Our Dispatch and records units continue to be fully available by phone at 509-574-2500.

Public Records may be requested via the online public records portal which may be found under the 'Sheriff Public Records' link on the left side of this web page or the 'How Do I' menu at the top right of this web page.

Fingerprints for needs unrelated to concealed pistol license application will be taken at the Yakima office by pre-scheduled appointments made on our online fingerprint calendar located under the 'Fingerprinting Services' link on the left side of this page.

Concealed pistol license applications are available on this web site under the 'Concealed Pistol License Information and Application' link (icon) below this message.  An original license application (brand new license or the old license was over 90 days expired) requires the submission of fingerprints which must be scheduled no further than 2 months from the date of completion of the online application portion.  You will be prompted to make a fingerprint appointment as part of the application process.  **If appointment availability requires you to schedule over 1 month in the future, please contact our office to see if there have been any cancellations for earlier appointment times. The application will be processed after the completion of the fingerprints required for the background check.

Along with those noted above, many other general practices have been adjusted to allow for alternate ways of accomplishing standard in-person business transactions.  Please call with questions if you require assistance with these processes. If you have specific business needs which may require office contact, please call for an appointment.

As business begins moving back towards normal across Yakima County, the Yakima County Sheriff's Office encourages everyone to remain diligent with respect to their health and the health of those around them. It should be standard to wash hands frequently, cover coughs and sneezes appropriately and keep hands away from faces. Please do not visit populous public settings if you feel ill. Please wait to conduct your business until you have recovered. If you are concerned you may be susceptible to contagions, please practice necessary precautions when visiting public settings.
