Yakima County District Court is urging residents to be on alert for a scam involving fake text messages claiming to be from the Washington Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
The DMV does NOT send unsolicited text messages requesting sensitive information.
If you receive one of these messages:
Do not click any links.
Do not respond with personal or financial information.
Always verify messages by contacting the DMV directly through their official website or phone number.
