High water runoff in February and March lead to temporary road closures throughout the Wenas, Nile, West Valley and Mid-County regions. Several of these roads opened up as Yakima County crews repaired damaged roadways or water levels receded to normal flows.
Effective May 5th, all previously flood-caused road closures have now been recalled and roads open to general motorist use with the exception of North Meyers Road.
Yakima County is currently reconstructing the Yakima River Bridges at North Meyers Road for the next 18 months. Detours for this closure remain available at SR 22 (Toppenish-Buena Road) and SR 223 (between Granger and SR 22).
