The Yakima County Therapeutic Courts, which is comprised of the DUI Court, Drug Court, Mental Health Court and Family Treatment Court with support from the Mercy Movie Theatres and Merit Resource Services are sponsoring a community event this month in celebration of recovery month. We are showing two films that exemplify the power of change, healing and ultimately recovery. This event recognizes those whose lives have been transformed by treatment, community support and participation in therapeutic court programs.

- A New High: In the heart of downtown Seattle, a diverse group of men and women will come together to climb out of homelessness and drug addiction through an unorthodox recovery program that uses mountain climbing as a means of rehabilitation. After one year of intense physical and mental conditioning, the team will attempt to summit one of the most dangerous mountains in the country, Mt. Rainier.
After the A New High film on 9.28.2019 the creator of the program, Mike Johnson and a recent participant who summitted Mt. Rainier will be present for a question and answer session.
