Yakima - County Commissioners have announced the passing of Chair Norm Childress (District 3). He had been diagnosed recently with advanced pancreatic cancer. He was 62.
"We were all stunned to hear the news," said Commissioner Ron Anderson. "Norm is a great guy and a great commissioner. He is a very valuable member of our team. We all wish him the best."
"Norm and his family are in our prayers," said Commissioner Vicki Baker. "This is such devastating news. Everything happened so fast that it hasn’t really sunk in yet. But we will be praying for Norm and the Childress family."
