Permit Process
Project Coordinators handle building permit applications and assist the public by directing them to other departments or agencies that may require additional permits for their projects.
Before a building permit is issued, a Plans Examiner reviews submitted plans to ensure compliance with current building codes, as well as state and local regulations.
Once construction begins, Building Inspectors conduct field inspections to verify compliance with approved plans. Typical inspections include:
- Footings
- Framing
- Plumbing and mechanical systems
- Insulation
- Final inspection
Depending on the scope of work, some projects may also require additional inspections, such as special bolting inspections.
