The first round of 2020-22 grant cycle funds resulted in an incomplete award round for 24-Hour Low-Barrier Shelter. While three excellent low-barrier shelter projects were funded (see Programs We Fund for more details), there were no qualified applicants for 24-hour, low-barrier, drop-in, night-by-night shelter for single adults and families in Upper Valley. The Board of County Commissioners has identified this as an important component of the emergency homeless response system in Yakima County, and the Human Services Department is therefore reopening a limited RFP in this category.
Applications for the 2020-2022 grant cycle for low-barrier, drop-in, night-by-night shelter for single adults and families in Upper Valley will be accepted between Friday, September 4, 2020 and Thursday, September 17, 2020. Applications must be submitted in Word and Pdf format to HumanServices@co.yakima.wa.us. Details about the applications can be found here.
The Human Services department will host one Information Session to answer questions about the application process. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Information Sessions will be hosted online. Please contact HumanServices@co.yakima.wa.us to be registered for an Information Session. Any other questions about the application can also be directed to this email address.
