Yakima County Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder Coalition (BHSUDC)

The primary purpose of the Yakima County Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder Coalition (BHSUDC) is to be a convening space for collaboration within the behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment system and to develop, review, and keep current the Yakima County Behavioral Health/SUD Strategic Plan, which will be used to inform funding decisions made by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). The BOCC is the local legislative authority and holds the ultimate responsibility for the sales and use tax for chemical dependency or mental health treatment services or therapeutic courts within Yakima County, as outlined in RCW 82.14.460.

The BHSUDC operates under the guidance of the Yakima County Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder Coalition Charter.

Yakima County Behavioral Health/SUD Strategic Plan

The Yakima County Behavioral Health/SUD Strategic Plan will build off of the Systems Mapping Reports that were completed in Yakima County in 2021 and 2022. These three maps, focused on the Criminal Justice System, Homeless Response System, and Youth Systems of Care, will serve as the baseline for a single, cohesive, strategic plan for the community. The priorities identified in this strategic plan will go on to inform funding decisions made by the Board of County Commissioners.
