Holiday Recycling Tips

  • Remember to recycle your wrapping paper, aluminum cans, plastic pop and beverage bottles and cardboard by signing up for curbside recycling or going to a recycling center near you.
  • When you go shopping, take a reusable shopping bag with you.
  • Buy products made to last a long time and avoid unnecessary packaging.
  • Recycle your old TV’s, tablets, laptops, e-readers, and computers for free. Find a recycling location near you.
  • Wrap creatively. Turn brown paper bags into wrapping paper, use cloth holiday dishtowels or last week’s comics.
  • Give gifts that don’t have to be wrapped at all: tickets to concerts, museums, sporting events or gift certificates.
  • Make gift bows (PDF) from recycled paper.
  • After Christmas, take your Christmas tree to a tree chipping event benefiting Camp Prime Time www.campprimetime.org , a recreational facility for terminally and seriously ill children.
