2018 Youth Environmental Summit 


Yakima County Solid Waste will be hosting its sixth Youth Environmental Summit (Y.E.S.) on Tuesday, October 30th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Yakima Convention Center in recognition of America Recycles Day. The goal of the summit is to empower students and school staff to be environmental advocates in their schools, homes and communities.

The Youth Environmental Summit is free to attend for middle, junior and senior high students and staff.  Registration is now open for this event.  
   

Guest Speakers


The 2018 Youth Environmental Summit will feature Dylan D'Haeze, founder of Kids Can Save the Planet, and director of 3 award-winning environmental documentaries.  Also featuring Roger Williams, director, Producer and Cinematographer of the film, RiverBlue a film that focuses on the environmental impact of the fashion industry.

Additional Exhibits


The event also features exhibits from local environmental organizations including the Yakima Area Arboretum, the Mushroom Society, Habitat for Humanity, Central Washington Bee Association and Central Washington University among many others. There is no charge for organizations to provide an exhibit.
